Is it easier to be close to a school?

Do you have young children who are going to a school in Kelowna? If so, one of the things to consider for your new Kelowna neighbourhood is…. is it within distance of your children’s school? If your children are old enough to walk to school and you want that luxury or not having to drive them everyday, consider a Kelowna home close to your children’s school.

Will it fit your lifestyle?

Before looking for a Kelowna home, figure out what type of lifestyle you have! When you put your Downtown Kelowna home up for sale you only have one chance to make a great first impression. The goal is to sell your home in the least amount of time with the best price possible. If you are getting ready to list your Downtown Kelowna home, here are a few foolproof tips to remember…

Be Flexible with Showing Requests

Be flexible with showing requests to get your home SOLD

When a potential buyer wants to view your Downtown Kelowna home, it’s important to be as flexible as possible with showing requests. This buyer may be coming from out of town with limited time to view and if you are strict on showing times it may not work for them to view. If you have the ability to be flexible with showing requests, it could help sell your Downtown Kelowna home faster.

Keep your house tidy

It’s not uncommon to get last minute showing requests. That being said, keeping your house tidy is a smart tip if you do get a last minute showing request. A general rule of thumb is leave your house 30 min away from being clean. This means if you get a showing request, within 30 minutes you can clean your home. Focus on the main rooms if you don’t have time to clean the house. Kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms are the main rooms in a home that buyers will spend more time in.

With summer here, it’s only natural people come to visit the beautiful city of Kelowna. If you have a spare guest bedroom that you want to spruce up before your family comes to visit our city of Kelowna, you’ve come to the right place! Here are three great ideas for a headboard alternative for your Kelowna guest bedroom.

Photo Collage Wall

guest bedroom with dark accents

Add a photo collage wall

One of the most headboard alternative ideas for your Kelowna guest bedroom is a photo collage wall! There are so many different ways to do this. Our favourite is, using a large statement piece and adding photos to surround. This adds to the wall and gives a focal point! Try a theme for the photos. Do you like to travel? Use photos of where you have travelled as the photo insert!

Floating Shelves

Another great headboard alternative for your guest bedroom is floating shelves. These great shelving units are reasonably priced and again give you the freedom to add whatever you want. Some great ideas for your floating shelves are books, photo frames and small decor pieces! Keep things small and ensure they aren’t going to fall on your guests!

guest bedroom with dark green wall

Add an accent wall

Add an Accent Wall

Last but not least… add an accent wall! This may require the most work as it will require a paint job. There are so many different ideas for an accent wall that you can do, it’ll all depend on what the style of your guest bedroom is. A few ideas are a wooden accent wall or a painted wall darker than your 3 other walls. The possibilities are endless!
